Golden Oat Waffles

Oat waffles for breakfast

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flours, oats, flaxseed, xanthum gum and baking powder.

  2. Place the egg, milk, oil and xylitol in a blender or food processor and process until smooth. Add the flour mixture and continue to process to form a thick smooth batter

  3. Heat a waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions. Pour in the batter and cook until golden brown.

  4. Serve with natural yogurt and fresh fruit

Ingredients:

  • 100g / 3 ½ oz rice flour

  • 30g / 1oz potato flour

  • 50g/ 1 ¾ buckwheat flour

  • 60g / 2oz Nairn’s gluten free oats

  • 1tbsp ground flaxseed

  • 2tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp xanthum gum

  • 1 egg

  • 175ml – 200ml semi-skimmed milk or milk alternative

  • 1tbsp olive oil

  • 1tbsp xylitol or agave nectar

  • To serve: natural low fat yogurt, mixed berries
